When you think about the words '21st Century Learning', what do you think of? Computers, modules, videos, online classes? Technology, right? Those are all things that came to my mind before my research this week. After reading How do you define 21st-century learning?: One question. Eleven answers, I learned what 21st Century Learning truly is, why it is so important, and how much more it is than just technology. While technology is an important and vital tool in education, 21st Century Learning is so much more than tools. It truly focuses on getting learners ready for the world post-school and giving learners opportunities to learn in the classroom in the same way our world works- focusing on dynamic situations and skills! This week I spent some time researching 21st Century Learning and exploring articles and booklets. After learning about the different components I created a presentation, 21st Century Learning - CEP 810, to explain a few of the components of 21st Century Learning and I share my experiences of how I use it in my own practice as a Residence Hall Manager. Let's keep the conversation going! I encourage reflection and comments by email or follow me on Twitter @kdeloachMSU. References: Rich, E. (2010, October 11).
